Boo! Halloween Lights Up M&R’s Hotels
Ghosts and goblins, skeletons and all manner of jack-o-lanterns festooned hotels throughout the M&R portfolio in celebration of Halloween last month.
General managers of M&R-managed hotels took the opportunity of this annual event to bring smiles to their guests and employees alike this year by decorating front desks, breakfast rooms and other public spaces. Guests and staff members working away from home on Halloween experienced a bit of the fun they otherwise might have missed.
Melissa Hill, general manager of the Hampton Inn Joplin in Missouri, and Brittany Kennedy, her counterpart at the Hampton Inn Marion in Illinois, challenged their team members to create the most creative and memorable Halloween decorations. In the days running up to late October, hotel guests voted for their favorite decorations. Prizes were awarded to the winners. All entries were displayed. Melissa and Brittany called the event a real morale booster and a tradition the team looks forward to every fall.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan/Central Park, Hyatt Centric Midtown Fifth Avenue New York and newly opened Holiday Inn LIC-LaGuardia West provided decorations for associates to decorate their properties. The Comfort Inn Prospect Park-Brooklyn in Brooklyn, New York, supplemented the usual ghosts and goblins with displays of fall foliage and pumpkin center pieces. Guests checking into the Hampton Inn Marion were greeted by Guest Service Agent Clinton Goff dressed as a banana. “Guests loved it,” Brittany said.
