Brooklyn’s Comfort Inn is a Good Neighbor

Among the M&R hotels that are reaching out to support nonprofit organizations in their communities is the Comfort Inn Prospect Park – Brooklyn, which established a relationship with the local chapter of Lifespire, a nearby day treatment facility for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

At Christmas, the hotel provided presents for Lifespire members and, more recently, members visited the hotel, met hotel associates and took a tour. Marilu Vazquez, front desk supervisor, welcomed the guests. The Comfort Inn is one of the few hotels in the immediate area, and the Lifespire members were curious about how it operates.

According to General Manager Kemol Dixon, opening the hotel doors to Lifespire is part of being a good neighbor. “This neighborhood is our home, so there’s every reason to be involved in the life here,” he said. “Lifespire provides an important service. If we can support that effort in even a modest way, it’s all to the good.”
