Building Morale, Month by Month

When Savi Singh, director of operations at the Best Western JFK Airport Hotel, decided to design a custom 2024 calendar featuring the hotel’s associates, the entire team — from the front desk to the night auditor -- wholeheartedly embraced the idea.

The calendar features photos of associates on their birthdays as well as employee get-togethers held throughout the year. “Not surprisingly, employees responded happily to seeing their photos,” Savi said. “Everyone works very hard and this is one way to show we appreciate their efforts.”

Alan Chan, area general manager, said Savi’s initiative helped the team bond. Calendars were distributed to every staff member, and pages are displayed on a bulletin board for all to see as they go about their duties.
