Hotels Add Unique Touches to Enhance the Guest Experience
Making guests feel at home is a top priority, and M&R’s hotels are adding thoughtful, unique touches to their public spaces to elevate the overall guest experience. From cozy cocoa bars to healthier breakfast options, these creative initiatives are bringing joy, convenience and a sense of community to hotel lobbies and dining areas.
At the Residence Inn & SpringHill Suites New York Queens, the staff transforms the lobby into a warm, inviting space with a hot cocoa bar open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Assistant General Manager Ayana Isaac said the cocoa bar has quickly become a favorite among guests.
“During check-in, guests are super excited to visit the cocoa bar,” said Ayana. “The excitement is so high that there’s often a small line during check-in. Guests can grab a fun, nonalcoholic drink while checking in, which is a nice treat after a long day.”
The cocoa bar offers a simple yet effective way to elevate the guest experience that appeals to guests of all ages. With a wide variety of toppings, guests can customize to their heart's desire, often returning for multiple visits. “The kids love the toppings, especially the sprinkles and marshmallows,” said Ayana. “They come back over and over.”
Additionally, the Residence Inn & SpringHill Suites New York Queens makes sure its guests stay refreshed and hydrated with tasty seasonal lobby drinks, such as dragon fruit iced tea made with real fruit.
Meanwhile, over at the Fairfield New York Manhattan/Central Park, General Manager Yan Chung and her team continue to focus on enhancing the guest experience with thoughtful seasonal and health-conscious initiatives. “In the slower months of January and February, the property introduced a yogurt bar to elevate the breakfast experience but also to connect with guests with a healthy option,” said Yan. Displayed with a variety of healthy toppings, the yogurt bar quickly became a hit with guests seeking lighter, more nutritious breakfast options.
The yogurt bar offers guests a healthier start to their day with an assortment of toppings including granola, fruit and nuts. “Guests really enjoyed it and gave us many compliments,” said Yan.
The Comfort Inn Prospect Park-Brooklyn offers guests complimentary iced tea and granola bars as one of its guest perks. “One of the many amenities we offer in our lobby area is iced tea and granola bars for all guests,” said Ciera Bush, sales manager. “They are welcome to enjoy a refreshing snack as they check into the hotel.”
