It’s Our First: Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue

Expanding the Marriott International brands it manages, M&R this month will open the 182-room Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue at 292 Fifth Ave. between West 30th and West 31st streets in Midtown Manhattan.

The 21-story hotel’s debut marks the Paris-born brand’s second Le Méridien hotel in New York. Marriott includes Le Meridien in its Distinctive Premium brand tier, along with Westin, Renaissance and Gaylord, with their emphasis on service and design.

A focal point of the hotel’s public spaces is the Le Méridien Hub, a social gathering place and modern reinterpretation of the traditional hotel lobby, serving custom-brewed, barista-crafted coffee beverages during the day and sparkling cocktails in the evening at its signature Latitude/Longitude Bar.

In addition to the property’s 165 nonsmoking guest rooms, the hotel offers 17 apartment-style residences on the upper floors for extended stays. Guest rooms feature Le Méridien’s signature beds, 55-inch 4K smart TVs; wireless internet; desk and desk chairs with USB outlets for device charging and luxurious bath products from Malin+Goetz.

Additional amenities and services include a complimentary 24-hour health club with Life Fitness equipment, multilingual staff, valet laundry and dry-cleaning services, in-room dining, off-site self-parking and bicycle storage.

The property’s full-service, three-meal-a-day restaurant, Allora, specializes in seasonally inspired Italian cuisine and features a private dining room.

The Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue's Midtown location is well-positioned for both leisure and business guests. Head south to Union Square and the Flatiron District; west to the High Line, Whitney Museum, Hudson Yards and New York Penn Station; east to the United Nations; and north to Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center.

“The addition of the Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue – the first Le Méridien hotel in our portfolio − marks an important milestone for M&R Hotel Management and the growth of our portfolio to six Marriott-branded hotels,” said Brian McSherry, M&R chief operating officer.

The hotel joins M&R’s management portfolio of 31 other open hotels and two under development in New York, including three other Marriott branded properties in Manhattan: the Fairfield by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park, TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square and SpringHill Suites New York Midtown Manhattan/Park Avenue.

M&R also manages the Fairfield by Marriott St. Louis Collinsville, IL.
