M&R Hotels Give Back This Holiday Season

With the holiday season in full swing, M&R hotels are embracing the spirit of giving by participating in several charitable initiatives to bring joy and much-needed support to those in need.

The TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square and the Tarrytown House Estate on the Hudson are partnering with widely known organizations, including Toys for Tots, hosting toy drives to collect new, unwrapped toys for children in the local community. Guests and employees are encouraged to contribute to the drive, helping ensure that every child has a gift to open this holiday season.

“I enjoy doing this annually along with other philanthropy,” said Steven Lamour, general manager of the TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square, who also opens the drive up to the public weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program has been well-received by staff, guests and locals alike, he added.

Other hotels, including the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square South and Hotel Alameda at the Highline, are raising funds and collecting clothing to help homeless individuals stay warm during the cold winter months.

Employees can donate $5 for the privilege of dressing down on Fridays in December, according to Area General Manager David Ruas. “We are using that money to buy gloves and winter hats to distribute to the homeless in our neighborhood,” he said. “We also will be donating gently worn coats and jackets.”

Through these heartwarming community-giving events, M&R team members are showing that the holiday season is about more than just celebrations; it’s about coming together to make a positive difference in the lives of others and making the season brighter for those less fortunate.
