Peter Nichols Welcomed as Vice President of Development
Cleo Clarke, M&R vice president of people & culture, recently convened a meeting of general managers to welcome Peter Nichols, a hospitality industry veteran, as the company’s newly appointed vice president of development.
Nichols, who reports to Brian McSherry, chief operating officer, joins Danny Dolce on the development staff.
During his 35-year career, Peter has been involved in hotel operations, management, ownership and brokerage. He formerly was chief development officer for OTH Hotels Resorts, a management company based in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Earlier in his career, he was national director for the National Hospitality Group of Marcus & Millichap Inc., senior vice president of business development for Richfield Hospitality, vice president of Hodges Ward Ellliott amd founder of Signature Hotel Group,
Peter has built strong relationships with a range of major hotel brands, including Marriott, Hilton and IHG, each of which is represented in M&R’s portfolio.
Peter has been a featured speaker at the Lodging Conference and the Asian-American Hotel Owners Association annual conference, among others. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal as well as industry publications, including Lodging magazine.
Peter holds degrees from Southern Connecticut State University, New London, and Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island. He also studied commercial real estate analysis and investment at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge.
