Stevie Kaye Named General Manager for Long Island City Hotels

Stevie Kaye has been named general manager of the dual-brand Residence Inn New York Queens and SpringHill Suites New York Queens, both in Long Island City, the latest additions to M&R’s growing portfolio scheduled to open soon in Long Island City.

A 32-year hospitality industry veteran, Stevie joined M&R after serving as general manager of the SpringHill Suites Carle Place Garden City. Before that assignment, he was general manager and regional director of sales at the Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia Airport/Astoria and general manager and area director of sales for the Fairfield Inn Medford Long Island.

M&R’s Long Island City dual brand is composed of a 135-room Residence Inn, which focuses on extended-stay bookings of two nights or longer, and a 270-room SpringHill Suites, which Marriott counts among its select brands category. Long Island City is a thriving hotel market thanks in part to easy access to Manhattan.

Reflecting on his years as a general manager, Stevie cited “knowledge of leading a team” and “training and motivating staff” as his two top strengths.

He earned a degree in business administration and psychology at Queens College of the City University of New York. Outside of work, he enjoys country music, visiting Long Island beaches and barbeque.
