Survey Shows a High Level of Staff Engagement

A significant majority of M&R employees are engaged in the work they do on the job, according to results of the annual survey conducted in May. Eighty-two percent of respondents reported being either fully or somewhat engaged, while 14% reported being somewhat disengaged and only 4% said they felt totally disengaged.

“While the overall results are positive, we believe in continuous improvement and are working to see even better results when we next survey our associates,” said Cleo Clarke, vice president of people & culture. “Every day, our associates are M&R’s face to the guests – our customers – so the more engaged the associate is with the job he or she does, the more satisfied the guest will be and the more likely to return.”

The Hampton Inn Anderson in Indiana, won the prize for the hotel with the highest percentage of associates participating in the survey. “Our team was excited to win the prize, everyone making sure they completed the survey by the deadline,” said General Manager Amy St. John. Amy and her colleagues are looking forward to the remodeling of the hotel, which opened in 1999. The remodeling will bring guest rooms and public spaces up to the latest Hampton brand standards.
