Thanksgiving and All the Trimmings
With Thanksgiving a nonsectarian holiday focused on thanks and gratitude that everyone can enjoy, M&R general managers took the opportunity to display turkey and pumpkin decorations in their lobbies and break rooms and to host team lunches with menus featuring traditional holiday favorites.
The TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square had a double reason for celebrating: the holiday coincided with the hotel’s fourth anniversary. Similarly, the Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue, will have a double reason to celebrate in years to come: its official opening was scheduled for the week after Thanksgiving.
The day after Thanksgiving, meanwhile, marks the start of the traditional Christmas shopping season, a busy period for the lodging industry. Consequently, a number of M&R hotels, including the Holiday Inn New York City – Times Square, couldn’t wait to get a jump on displaying their lobby Christmas trees, shiny ornaments and all.
