Upgrades Underway at Holiday Inn New York City – Times Square

A professional construction crew has been performing acrobatics at the 35-story Holiday Inn New York City – Times Square, swinging from the rooftop on ropes to repair the brick façade. It’s part of an upgrade currently underway at the. hotel, which opened in 2015.

“Guests expect that the physical plant be kept in tip-top condition, and it’s our goal to deliver on that expectation,” said General Manager Felix Maldonado.

The hotel faces New York’s busy Eighth Avenue behind a public plaza that features seating, decorative metal screens, ornamental trees and flowering plants. Upgrades to the plaza also are on the drawing board.

“When this phase of the work is completed, the plaza will be even more appealing to guests than it is already,” Felix said. “The plaza provides a pleasant, quiet respite compared with all the activity swirling around it.,” Felix said.
