When a Celebrity Shows Up

It could be a local politician, successful sports figure, recognizable actor or a widely known business leader checking in to the hotel or stopping by for a meeting or social engagement. They could be traveling with an entourage or by themselves.

The DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square West staff and General Manager Margarita Garcia welcomed such a visitor recently: Nico Hischier, the captain and center for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League.

Hischier, 24, was the number-one overall draft pick in 2017. The New Jersey Devils has been enjoying a winning season in 2023

Hischier was in the hotel to meet friends in the DoubleTree’s rooftop restaurant and lounge – High Bar New York – which features panoramic city views.

“While the privacy of all our guests is paramount as is security overall, Nico was relaxed and friendly and offered to pose for a photo with our associates, who I might add are also a winning team,” Margarita said.
